Paralegals and Advocates

MARGOT M. ANDERSEN, M.S.W., is an educational advocate with the law firm of Whitted, Cleary + Takiff, L.L.C., and has concentrated in the area of educational advocacy and consulted with families who have children with special needs since 1997.

She has developed an in-depth knowledge about various learning and emotional disorders. Ms. Andersen received her B.A. degree in psychology from New York University and her Masters in Social Work from Loyola University.

Prior to becoming involved in educational advocacy, she enjoyed a successful career in the business world. She has held leadership positions in the special education arena and has lectured locally.

Ms. Andersen is a member of the Josselyn Center for Mental Health's "BEST Team," which educates school districts on Bipolar Disorder, and has co-authored a manual on how to help schools program for students with Bipolar Disorder. She is vice president of Thresholds, an organization nationally known for rehabilitating people with chronic mental illness.


The law firm of Whitted, Cleary + Takiff serves clients in Northbrook and throughout northern Illinois, in communities such as Chicago, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Waukegan, Woodstock, Belvidere, Geneva, Wheaton, Yorkville, Joliet, Skokie, Glenview, Highland Park, Buffalo Grove, and Evanston.
